nC® ProTherm CUI-HTF thermal insulating coating
Based on sol-gel nanotechnology, nC ProTherm CUI-HTF is an up to 10mm sprayable thermal insulating coating for high heat industrial use. It is thermal insulating, fire retardant and corrosion passivating. CUI-HTF has a long lasting lifetime cycle of more than 15 years outdoors, and life-long expectancy indoors.
Because of the ability to insulate with a very thin layer of coating, nC ProTherm CUI-HTF offers space saving and cost reducing protection at a high degree of insulation with a thermal conductivity value (λ)-value λ10 mW/(mK) = 56 and a thermal resistance (R) value of R10 m2K/W 0.2409 at 10 mm.
It provides Safe Touch surfaces and is capable of reducing surface temperatures of pipes, tubes, walls and other surfaces from max. 260°C down to 50°C and below. CUI-HTF is hydrophobic and chemical resistant. It keeps both heat and (freezing) cold in place.
In order to prevent CUI (Corrosion Under Insulation), the nC ProTherm CUI-HTF coating is equipped with a corrosion passivator. The passivator surpasses the performance of any traditional corrosion protection coating available as it is based on surface bonding nanotechnology (sol-gel). The system will prevent metals from corroding. It will stop already present corrosion.
Both new or blasted metals, as well as already corroded metals (ferro or non-ferro) benefit from this treatment, without the need for chipping or blasting beforehand. This makes it a very fast, cost-effective and environment friendly solution. Because of the chemical bonding, there is no room between coating and surface. This eliminates the influences of cold-bridge, moist and air.
As this covalent chemical bond builds a matrix inside the top surface, it offers a flexible protection as it will shrink and expand along with the metal during ambient and internal temperature changes. This way the coating will not crack or partly release from the surface, as mechanically adhered coatings do. The layer itself offers the look-and-feel of a hard-coat. Both metal and coating are now immune for elevated temperatures, salt, water, chemicals or oxygen. As the cold alloy primer bonds with the metal, it builds a matrix inside the metal surface and withstands abrasion as never seen before. The CUI-HTF system will protect metals against corrosion for more than 15 years.
Because nC® ProTherm CUI-HTF is fire resistant, it will protect the integrity of the structures it is applied on against melting down for a very long period of time. This period varies between 8 hours and 48 hours depending on the severity of the fire and the thickness of the coating applied.
nC® ProTherm CUI-HTF is applied preferredly by spraygun as it keeps the coating airy. Application by means of roller or brush is also possible. In any case, the coating shows a stucco-like finish. nC® ProTherm CUI-HTF can be applied in one layer, between 3mm up to 10 mm and is a fast drying solution. nC® ProTherm CUI-HTF has a white/grey appearance. It can be painted over.
