Titan®Protect TA2205 Textile & Fabrics
Titan®Protect TA2205 Textile & Fabricsis a very fine, water-based titanium-dioxide dispersion. Its formulatíon is a photocatalytically active coating and is fully transparent. Upon radiation with light, the coatings will release oxygen radicals from the ambient air and thus decompose solid and gaseous substrates by oxidation („cold combustion“).
Firstly, Titan®Protect TA2205 Textile & Fabrics is suited for items that are NOT washed frequently. TA2205 is active under UV light (sunlight) as well as under artificial light up to a wavelength of 475 nm. The design of Titan®Protect TA2205 provides textiles and fabrics with self-cleaning properties, protects them against algae and mould and clears it from odour. Surfaces clean the air from pollutants (e.g. NOx). The active self-cleaning titanium-dioxide particles transform all organic pollution on surfaces, like soot, bird-droppings, stains of coffee, wine, oils, fingerprints etc. , into harmless compositions and oxygen. Calculations learn that 920 m² of titanium coated surface equals the air-filtering capacity of 80 trees.
Titan®Protect TA2205 Textile & Fabrics unites the advantages of photo catalysis with the unique capacity of nano-technology. Instead of sticking mechanically on the surface (like waxes or foils do), the use of nanotechnology ensures that the Titan®Protect TA2205 coating bonds into the surface chemically. The active self-cleaning characteristics of titanium-dioxide will not exhaust.
Titan®Protect Textile & Fabrics is suited for items that are NOT washed frequently. Titan®Protect TA2205 is suitable for industrial application (bath coating or spraying technique). The application quantities depend on the application method and, as to the bath coating process, on the absorption rate. Technical consultation at the nC Surface Technology BV R&D dept. is strongly recommended.
Put left-over Titan®Protect in container and use-up within 4 weeks after first opening of original.
Titan®Protect TA2205 will deteriorate fast when dirty or greasy surfaces are bathed.
Clean tools, spraynozzles with water immediately after every stop.
Wash hands and face after every stop.
As nanotechnology is about bonding into surfaces and matrices of nanoparticles need to be built up after application, the treatment reaches full performance AFTER a cure time of approximately 36 to 72 hours, which is dependent upon environmental variables, humidity and heat applied. Tests of maximum performance should be performed after full cure.
