nC® Nano Corrosion Passivator High Chemical Resistance


nC® Nano Corrosion Passivator High Chemical Resistant (NCP HCR) is an EP-Siloxane based finish coating, containing surface bonding technology. The 2-component system will prevent metals from corroding in extreme hostile chemical environments. It beats UV, weathering and chalking during it’s lifetime. As nC® Nano Corrosion Passivator High Chemical Resistant is developed for applications above, in and under water it is very versatile in use.


nC® NCP HCR develops a matrix on and within the metal surface. This offers a flexible protection. A covalent bonded layer becomes one with the surface. Hence, it will move along with the temperature driven expanding and shrinking of the metal. Therefore, NCP HCR will not release from the metal, making metals immune for ambient influences like elevated or sub-zero temperatures, salt, water, chemicals, UV or oxygen.


Another advantage of the chemical bonding is that potential-differences cannot cause electrical currents in the surfaces, thus preventing galvanic corrosion.


NCP HCR is applied by brush, roller or sprayer. Building a system with NCP Primer underneath NCP Cold Alloy and finished with NCP HCR you will protect metals even against sulfuric acids. The lifetime expectancy of this combination exceeds 25 years, with a layer that will stay below 200 micron DFT.  This makes it a very cost-effective and low maintenance solution.

  • nC Nano Corrosion Passivator High Chemical Resistant is a 2 component coating.
  • Mixing ratio Component A, Core: 70 and Component B, Catalyst: 15.
  • After mixing, potlife is 1 hour at 20°C.
  • Surface needs to be free from dirt, paint or rust.
  • Surface needs to be free from grease or oil.
  • Surface must be dry.
  • Corroded or sandblasted surface: Please prepare surface with nC Nano Corrosion Passivator Primer. When using NCP Primer on corroded surfaces, no sandblasting or chipping is needed.
  • Application by means of brush, roller or spray.
  • Spread-rate is 130g (100 micron) - max 260g (200 micron) per m² or 3,85m² to 7,69m² per kilogram.
  • Apply wet-in-wet. You can paint over after 30 mins.
  • Ambient temperatures during application must be between 8°C to 30°C.
  • Dry to touch in 6 hours without forced drying.
  • Forced air drying can be done 15 to 20 mins after application. Use 50⁰C up to 75⁰C max for forced drying.
  • Forced air drying will improve the chemical resistance.
  • Preparation for an extra layer or an adjacent coat: You can paint over either wet-in-wet (so directly, remember HCR dries FAST!), or after 24 hours of curing without sandpapering. After 48 hours of curing, light sand grinding is required before a new layer is applied.
  • Use nC Nano Corrosion Passivator system Primer/Cold Alloy/HCR for > 25 years of corrosion protection.



  • Do not use nC® NCP Cold Alloy as a final coat when exposed for over a year outdoors
  • Do not use nC® NCP Cold Alloy as final floor or deck covering.
  • Do not use nC® NCP Cold Alloy as final coat in tubes or pipes, finish with nC® NCP HCR or nC® ProTect 4400/4600/4700.


  • Store un-opened packagings at temperatures lower than 35°C.
  • Store unopened containers for 1 year max.
  • Store preferrably in ambient temperatures between 5° Celsius to 25° Celsius.
  • Do NOT freeze product.
  • Never use pressure to empty drums.
  • Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations.
  • Lead time 1 to 2 weeks.
